Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side: 2nd Kiss Final Patch!
Hey, everybody!
After almost a year since announcing the project, {gokusaishiki} are proud to present to you the complete English translation patch for Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side: 2nd Kiss! This full patch can be accessed from the Downloads page under the “TMGS2” category. Here are some notes about this release.
– All text should be translated minus four things:
- The name entry under the kanji, hiragana and katakana tabs. We’re really sorry about this, but when we attempted to change this, it affected the rest of the in-game text. You can look up a list of Japanese names that work with the EVS (the system that makes it possible for the guys to say your name) in the TMGS series here.
- The tutorial graphics for Valentine’s Day, the Pillow Fight on the school trip and for the activities during the Sports Festival. When Phoenix tried to change these, she spotted glitches.
- The rooms for the input screens, because we could not locate this part of the game and;
- The title of the 4-week fortune page is in Japanese, as changing it caused glitches.
– There will be no more releases for TMGS2 after this patch, unless there is a freeze or game crash.
Now that that’s out of the way, we’d like to thank everyone who made this possible. From the people who helped us get established to the people who helped us make it past the finish line: we could not have done this without you, and we cannot even imagine what things would be like if it weren’t for your help. Your names will be fully credited on the credits page under the “TMGS2” category.
We’ll be taking a long break after this since school’s starting for us! We do hope you guys enjoy the game and thank you all for waiting patiently!
Finally, one small reminder: Under no circumstances, will {gokusaishiki} provide a links to ROM downloads, so please do not ask.

I personally apologize to all of those I’ve been snappy with, I really have no excuse. No matter how stressed I am, it’s never good to take it out on the fans of the game or the supporters, which is why the disclaimer is taken down. Deeply sorry about that guys.
The Downloads page has a V4 patch that fixes both the Hikami date freeze and the Nishimoto ending freeze. Enjoy!

Do you know how to patch an actual DS copy of Tokimeki Memo? I only know how to patch the rom but not the actual game. xx Thanks for patching though you guys!!!
As far as I know I don’t believe you can. I would just patch a ROM copy. Perhaps look up on google how to patch actual games or something?

Ummm if its not a problem Id like to ask a question considering game play. I tried 3 different chars(sensei,shota and masaki) and everything was nice and well but on Hikamis route in 3rd year everything was good he was in tokimeki state asking me out almost every week kust like previous chars…but then tokimeki panel started droping out of nowhere to grining state, he stopped asking for dates too..I even missed CG because of it(summer festival) I have no idea what happened I had no bombs, I accepted and went to his dates, made him chocolates and everything in the end I was unable to raise tokimeki bar again and missed his end…anyone had similat issue?

Which is really weird. I tried to download other roms of the game, or different patches, but everytime it’s the same. (Always in the apply section and my lap has enough memory for the game)
I don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m really happy you guys made a patch because I’ve wanted to play this game since I first saw it in Japanese when I was like twelve. Now where do I get the game to patch? Or do you have it up for download as well? I already know how to patch and have the emulator, but I can’t find the game anywhere. May I trouble you for some sort of answer?
Sorry, but we can’t give you the link to the actual ROM as it is copyrighted material. Sharing it would constitute as piracy which could lead to a whole chain of events that could lead to the website getting shut down. However, if you look hard enough on the internet, you’ll probably find it floating around somewhere.

You mean the beach at summer? Just click on your computer and read the article about the summer activities stuff; the beach is only available in Summer (July-August) and Winter (don’t know when exactly), but I think you can only access it if you’ve read about it. I hope that answers your question.
Uh, wait can you restate your question? Are you asking for the beach icon location in general or for a certain beach date with Saeki? One of his dates is going to the beach during the summer time I believe. (sorry been awhile since I did his route >_< ) beach dates can usually be had during the summer times (april-july i think) or sometime in the winter (i believe around october?) For saeki's beach CG, if your affection is at 😀 and above, you go on a beach date and get a special date CG event! If your still not getting it, I suggest making sure your affection is high enough and either try and redo the date (turning off your DS and restart the date) or ask him out two more times (first to a new location, then to the beach again). As long as it is during the summer time, you should be fine.
The beach is located in the Habataki Park district (this is where the aquarium-the fish symbol- shopping mall, sky garden, sea side park, and event hall are located).
you can only go to the beach during summer and winter and i think you have to check the computer before it pops up.

I have a little problem 😦 I use Acecard2i, and I finished the game first with an Onoda ending. After I try to play a new game, but I havent boys numbers. Because I lose the Chris’s ending I made everything same like the first game. But no numbers, just the workplaces… So I made a Komori ending. Aaaand, I’m playing again, and I havent again numbers! Can you help me?

What I am wondering though is that if there is still a link out there on Google. I’ve googled and googled and all it gives me are trimmed versions and broken links.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe it’s 512mb~
You had said that the rom need be no smaller than 256mb. What if you have a rom whose size is 257.7mb? Is there any way of forcing this to work or is it impossible because it’s size isn’t quite 256?
You could try patching it. Chances are, if the rom size is wrong, it’ll give you an error when/after you patch it. If it does, simply Google the rom again and download from a different source. As for forcing it, no – unless you can figure out what process was done to the rom before uploading and undo it somehow.

And here’s my instruction too, in case you’re confused with that one :
First, Google “Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 2nd Season rom”. Google should give you plenty of links to choose from. Once you’ve downloaded one, extract it with winrar. That’s a program too, so if Windows tells you it doesn’t know what to do with the .rar file, get Winrar. (Google this too, since it’s free)
Make sure the .nds file that you’ve extracted from the rar is 256mb.
Next, open the xdeltaUI mod that we’ve given you in the patch. There will be three sections, all with the OPEN/… button beside. Basically you click on them and select these.
Patch : Choose the .xdelta file that you’ve downloaded from us
Source file : Choose the ROM you downloaded
Output file : Choose somewhere you want your patched rom to be. For example, choose your desktop, and type in a name you want. E.g : TMGS2.nds
Hit apply. In a few minutes, you’ll find your TMGS2.nds on your desktop and ready to play! Please come back if you have any problem and we’ll try our best to help!

Generally, making a common Japanese name such as ‘Sakura’, ‘Tanaka’ etc. will give you a higher chance of having it pronounced. (Unless your name is really short, like Ann.) I’d give you all-the-name-list, but I can’t see to find it anywhere XAX

I’m not sure if you’ll know how to do this, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Because my computer is a 2002 model, (I kid you not. It’s my Mum’s old one.) and has no space left, I wanted to play the patch on my 3DS. So I’m buying an R4 (For Japanese patched games only- I refuse to cheat Nintendo out of any money.). I wanted to know if I could just add the patch to my R4, or if there was something else I needed to do.

You need to get the rom which is a biiit cheating Konami, but if you want to show your support, you can buy the game before or after you get the rom 🙂
Then you apply the patch to the rom and then place it onto your R4! 🙂
Hello ! First I have to say that my english is kinda bad so sorry for that… (;___;)
I have a problem and I’m wondering if it’s norma. It’s my first time playing, so I don’t know… I’m a newbie! huhu~
The problem is : I saw that I was low in the heart of Saeki while asking to Yuu-chan informations. Then I wanted to phone to him, but I couldn’t. The board where I should choose a boy to call is empty, I mean that all the parts of the bord have an empty face with no names at all, like if I wasn’t knowing anybody… while I know Saeki, Amachi, Shiba, etc!
I have waiting, hoping it will works next days, and again, and again… Never changed. And now, Saeki has a bomb. And I still can phone to him, neither to Shiba who also has a bomb now. Ouch!
Actually, I have never phoned any of them cause I search to especially seduce Waka-sensei, but I was always coming to home with guys when I was able to and I’m always nice, coming to the attraction park with Onada-san and friends, etc. But I never asked to have a tea with guys… is that the cause of the problem ? Maybe I have to do that to have the phone numbers..? Or it’s something else?

What you actually need to do is ask Yuu for information. Instead of choosing evaluation, choose “Guy’s Information” or something when Yuu asks you what you want to know. Then just click on the profiles for all the guys (which has their phone number) and the choice to call them will automatically be available.

Well, you would need to know romhacking before I can give you the program. You would need lots of romhacking since there’s a problem with the endings that you have to fix in order to get things to appear properly and even then there’s a slight problem we haven’t fixed yet with the endings.

Are you playing with one of the emulators? Unfortunately, it’s a common problem with them, especially if it’s a slow netbook/laptop or just incompatible with it. You can try using http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html to boost your computer’s performance if this is the case, and see if it helps it!

First off, I just wanna say how much I appreciate the all the work you all have done. It’s SO great to actually understand what’s being said! XD
However, I’m having a problem patching the game. I previously patched GS1 (which was just AWESOME!), and had no problems at all. I used the unmodified xdelta program. Oh, and I have an R4 with the Wood v1.27.
So anyway, I opened the file with Winrar and the patch was there, but it wasn’t a .patch file, it’s an xdelta file
Should’t be a .patch file like it was with GS1? I can’t put the xdelta file into the bar that says “Patch”. I try to click and drag it in there like I did with GS1, but it doesn’t work. Just gives me the “no” symbol.
I extracted the .rar to its own folder and everything…Am I doing something wrong?

Just use the xdeltaUImod that comes with the patch package, it’s the 80kb one =D
The patch is indeed in .xdelta form. The format is different, but don’t worry, it still works. XD

There’ll be an ‘Open’ button beside the patch, source file, and output area. Just choose the .xdelta file for the patch, the clean rom for the source file, and then choose where and what to name your output file in the output area. I.e iHarem.nds

Ah, we used the xdelta patching program, haha. It’s different than the one that was used for GS1 and is what a few romhackers use. We’ll be using it for our translations in the future.

Sorry to ask.. but is Love Mode possible in this game? I’m doing everything required (“perfect date.” He asks to extend the date but we end up at the beach questioning each other awkwardly), and I didn’t activate Best Friend mode either. Possibly it’s something to do with my rom?

Yes, love mode is possible in this game.
I think it activates when the guy is at the pulsating heart state. You might also have to do lots of skinship while on the actual date, too.

Well, we’re possibly releasing another patch in a few days to fix all of the text cut-offs. I’m trying to figure out what caused the tutorial graphics to glitch so I can add those in, too.
Sorry to bother you, Bbut it seems like I’m having a problem during dates with Hikami. Whenever we start a date and he switches over to the touchscreen side, the game freezes. This happened twice, but I only have the .dsv file for the last time.

I think you are doing such an amazing project, I always played otome games and told people about them, but lack of the language barriers, other friends and fans cannot play them. 1st of all, thank you for all your hard work, I really love the game, and it’s amazing what you did 😉
2nd, I have problems with the game, I’m using Desmume 0.9.6, and it’s freezing at the endings, at the part of where it says what the heroine does with her life after the confession.
It happened with Waka-chan, Saeki, and Mizushima (?!!) in the v3 & v4 Patch
I have to know which endings they are. Each guy has five endings and the girls have one.
I also have to know the context it freezes on(What’s being said) as well as the save files right before the freezes so I can test the fixes with them.
What do you mean by save files? the slot?
It freezes at that part:
with Waka-chan the ending is the confession having the accidental kiss, at the confession i tried kissing him, just accepting, and reject him.
with Saeki, the accidental kiss was with Hariya, and i accepted his confession by kissing him.
Yeah, the save file is what I need 🙂
The .dsv file in the Battery folder of Desmume. I need to have the file and know what’s being said. Each guy has five endings, so it can virtually be any of those. I’ll need the saves for the Mizushima ending, the Saeki one, as well as the Wakaouji one.

with waka-cham the slot is the 10, saeki the 11, and Mizushima… mmmm.. i don’t remember, it really surprised me having her ending
It seems like Mizushima’s ending is the 11th slot. Do you remember which one was Saeki’s?
EDIT: Mizushima’s ending didn’t freeze with V4.
EDIT 2: No freeze on any of them in V4.
Make sure you’re double tapping the screen during those parts.

Maybe try using a different Desmume? I use EmuCR_DeSmuMe_r3776_x86.
Try not typing more than twice. I remember one girl tapped a lot for TMGS1 and it made her freeze a lot. i think she was using no$gba, though.
I switched the Desmume version I whas using and it works now

You need to go and see Yuu to get the info about the guys so you know their phone number and birthdays.
Or do you still have the same problem?
Can you tell me what flashcart/emu you’re using? I know no$gba has some issues.

I’m having a problem though – I can’t get the game to work on my Acekard. It works just fine with an emulator on PC, but as soon as I try to start the game on my DS it tells me “System File Missing”. Is there any fix for this?
Is your firmware up to date? It comes up perfectly fine on my Acekard 2i.
I figured it out. Had to turn of the AntiPiracy bypass and it worked fine afterwards 🙂

Yes, they are, tried using every existing emulator but only had any sort of luck with Ideas (even tried using Ideas’ older versions but without success). I’m honestly puzzled why it doesn’t work, oh well. Guess I’ll have to play it when I’ll have another computer around or something.

I’m not really sure if that’s the proper place I’m writing but I didn’t see the error page or anything of that sort where I should write this:
I’m having a fundamental bug with my patched game whereas trying to access the internet option from your schedule control panel the game seems to crash (huge black bar on the right side, huge white blank bar on the left.) and nothing happens then. All that’s using iDeaS emulator as that worked perfectly for me for the first game (and because all the others don’t even start for some reason).
I was wondering if anyone ever experienced among the staff something similar or whether anyone knows any solution for this irritating bug (I can’t complete the game without using the internet and checking the horoscope to maximum potential schedule). Thanks in advance, and once again, much appreciation for prevailing with the release!
I’ve never tried it with iDeaS, so I’ll download it and see what you’re talking about.
Have you tried another emulator? Most of my testers used Desmume, so I’m not sure if one of them used iDeaS. I know no$gba gives the same issues as the first game(mail freeze), but besides the sound, it works perfectly fine in Desmume. It sometimes has graphic issues in emulators, but Desmume should have the least.

Yes, I have tried using other emulators too but I couldn’t get them working unfortunately (it’s probably too much for my ancient pc to handle, so they don’t even start even though iDeaS works reasonably fast).
I’m fairly sure it has to be something the emulator can’t handle in the translation though as I managed to access the game’s internet function fine using the Japanese rom (argh such an irritating bug 😦 ). Guess I’ll have to try on another computer or something.
