Here are some links and our group’s e-mail address, should you ever need anything 🙂

E-mail: gokusaishikiteam@gmail.com

We are currently not looking for any new team members, so please refrain from e-mailing us about it. Should the time ever come where we are seeking new team members, it will most definitely be posted up on the blog.

Please also refrain from the following:

  • Asking us for a link to a patch
  • Asking for a link to a ROM (both directly and indirectly)
  • Requesting a game translation
  • Asking about the status of a project
  • Asking for the password(s) to the protected pages

Regarding Donations

Although we appreciate the thought and your good intentions, we do not accept donations nor will we ever ask for any money from you. Just your thanks is enough for us. This is something that the both of us decided to do of our own accord. No one is asking us to do this, and no one is forcing us to do this, so it doesn’t make sense for us to accept donations. On top of that, it would be wrong to profit from this, as we had nothing to do with creation or production of the games, and we’re being hosted on a free website. If you really want to show your support, thank the makers of the game and buy the actual games 😀

Hellooo! I miss seeing posts from you guys >:D< No pressure or anything, just hope you're all doing okay and that you're all still in the otome game scene. You have no idea how much hope you've given for this niche industry.

I played your fan translations of 2nd kiss and loved it. Here's hoping for many more projects and fun for gokusaishiki. Thank you again for all you've done~

Oh my gosh, just a million thank you’s to all of you that work on translating the Tokimeki Memorial series. As a die hard Otome game fan, i cannot express enough how much how thankful I am.

Hopefully your team will continue to translate amazing japanese otome games that never won’t ever be released outside of Japan. Much love and respect, and i’m cheering for you all! Thank you for your hard work and I can’t wait to play TMGS3 when it’s complete!

Thank you so much Phoenix! I am so eager to learn but i didn’t know how to start. And as if to prove that I have no life, i saved your tips in my documents…yeah..(seriously, is something wrong with me? hahaha..damn..)

    I think I’m loitering around here..am I? okay..i’ll shut up..right now..

i really feel the need to let you know that i am very very grateful for these translations and i am so excited for the TMGS3 patch…kinda relieved it hasn’t come out yet since i need to focus for my licensure examinations (im pretty sure it would DEFINITELY activate my bishieholic button and forget about my exams –talking about a girl with no priorities–*shrink*)
kinda hate my self for sucking at japanese *slap*
anyways im blabbing..just really want to say thank you and i love you!

      Haha, thank transferring the translated text from the old files to the new files, for that. It’s taking a while, because there are over 500+ files that were translated with the old tool, so it’s taking a moment to copy/paste the translated dialogue to the new files(It has to be done line by line) ;____;

If you ever want to learn Japanese, I’d be glad to give you tips. Thank you for your patience 🙂

        • July 19th, 2012

Being patient is the least we could do. We really appreciate what you’re doing and we should be the one thanking you.

I would really appreciate that, teehee! Hehe..I’ve been googling a lot lately about learning Japanese and after my exams i will definitely devote my time to it. There are too many awesome Japanese otome games out there and its definitely worth the time for a game fanatic like me. So…YES please!

        • July 19th, 2012

Thank you. Patience is great motivation for translating^^

I recommend the Genki books. They really do help you learn grammar in a structured way. I recommend doing Tae Kim’s Guide to Japanese alongside Genki. I suggest maybe starting the grammar guide once you learn about は on Genki. But if you’re doing Tae Kim’s complete guide, then you can start it when you start Genki. Once you’re done with Genki book one, I recommend doing Japanese The Manga Way, so you’re not only learning awesome grammar and particles, but you learn some casual stuff, as well. Japanese The Manga Way teaches via manga. It won’t teach you the Japanese writing system, only grammar. It’s a great book!

I suggest using Anki once you start using Genki and Tae Kim’s guide. Anki helps you retain the knowledge that you learn. I haven’t seen a deck for Japanese The Manga Way, so you may have to make your own for that. But making your own decks also helps you retain the knowledge. I think typing it out helps. If you want to learn how to practice your Japanese writing, buy a notebook and write in it, get a twitter account and tweet in Japanese, get a blog and type your blogs in Japanese, or practice writing on lang-8(Highly recommend.). Or heck, you can choose to do all! Hahaha

If you have any questions, feel free to ask 🙂

Just want to let you guys know that I love you and thank you thank you thank you for working on these patches. Really. Take as long as you like for TMGS3, because I would like to spend as much time as I can with other things that I will probably neglect once TMGS3 has been translated. Unhealthy, I know. But gahasgduiasheifwiojdklsajkdjaslkjdweiudjklajslkdj TMGS be so awesome it’s just too bad I suck at written Japanese Y U NO GIVE US ENGLISH VERSIONS KONAMI I WOULD TTLY BUY 500 COPIES (but maybe only 1, not really rich)

Hello! I want to thank you for all your work! I love TMGS games and I would have never known them until I stumbled upon this site. Right now I’m playing the 3rd game too and it’s so fun. XD
I just wanted to know your trade secrets. Jk, I mean, what kind of editing program do you use to translate the game? How do you create a xdelta file from the new data? And etc.
It’s probably a lot more time consuming than I think it is, but I kind of want to dabble in translating a bit.

      • Phoenix Goddess
      • July 7th, 2012

It isn’t an editing program that you can find anywhere if that’s what you mean. A programmer coded tools for us and we use those 🙂
As for creating a patch, we use the xdelta program.

If you want to learn how to romhack, you can start at romhacking.net/start

If you want to learn how to translate, you have to learn Japanese 🙂

      Good luck!

Just a little update for people who are wondering what exactly is going on.

Apologies for the lack of actual updates.
We’ve been translating this entire time and have been making small updates in the TMGS3 part of the forum. (Examples: “Wtf, Karen?!”, “Who said Tamao was sweet”, D’aww Ruka”, “TMGS3 Script Edit Game”).

We just haven’t made a full-blown announcement on the blog cause there’s no point in saying “We’re done with this folder.” a billion times. We are helping Densetsu on GBAtemp with Blood of Bahamut, another romhacker with their translation, two Gokusaishiki projects(TMGS3 and an RPG), school, work, and our own lives. So yes, things are bound to be slow.

We’ll be posting random screenshots in the gallery(Check TMGS3 Screenshots) on the blog and in the forum, but we probably won’t be announcing the translation as planned since we’ve decided to do a full first patch(Since most folders were going into the first patch anyway). We’ll only be making an update when the patch is ready for download.

Thanks to those who have been and are being patient 🙂

  3. Hey there.
I would first and for-mostly just like to say, thank-you.
    Thank you soooo much!
I can now play the first 2 games and understand it, which is amazing. 😀
I just wish, wish, wish that you had a game translation request page.
But I understand that it could become quite congested with requests, which would probably get annoying for you…
    I eagerly await TMGS3!
And again… Thank-you so very much.

I know you probably won’t., but would you anytime in the future maybe consider translating Kurayami no hate de kimi o Matsu?
It’s also an otome ds game, except it is in my eyes, pretty unique.
You should play it, even without it being in english, it is a very good game, if a bit crazy (by that, i mean it messes with your mind).
With amazing back stories to characters, and the way events unfold are never the same. (Of course… not a clue what they’re saying.)
I’ve looked everywhere for a translation.. but to no avail.

ANYWAY, sorry for making this comment a semi request.

You and your team are amazing.

    Thank-you

    -Your fan. n_n

    • Hi! Thank you for your support, and we’re glad you’re having fun with the game!
Unfortunately, we don’t take requests. It’s written here, from the FAQ :

      Q. Will you translate [insert game]?
      A. We’re taking one project at a time. For now, we can only mention what we’re currently doing so we don’t overload ourselves. We’ll announce our next translation when we have enough translated to announce

So as you can see, we’re doing one game at a time, so sorry for the trouble!

  4. I just wanted to tell the team that I am sooooo thankful. I heard gratitude is the proper donation, so I wanted to extend my extreme thanks from myself and about 14 girls(and 2 guys) that now play the first two games. I can only be patient for the GS3 English patch to come to fruition.

    My gratitude is maximum.

  5. Honestly, I’m not sure if this is the correct section to say this but I couldn’t figure out which one of you to e-mail about it (I was leaning more toward translations but I’m not really volunteering to be a translator either).

I’ve been playing TMGS3 on an emulator and recording various things (mostly the CG events but random stuff too), along with taking advantage of the save state option and getting the various responses for skinship and q&a, mostly since I planned on writing up a guide/walkthrough at some point. (It’s going to take awhile since I just started a couple days ago and only have Tamao & Seiji’s albums mostly finished.)

I just found out you’re going to do an English Patch for the game and wonder if you want any of the eventual transcriptions I’ll be making anyway. I’m not really familiar with the process of creating translation patches so I don’t know whether or not you’d want/need the transcripts (or even the recordings).

I’ve had prior experience in the translation (and editing, for that matter) department via scanlations, but I’d figured I’d just be a pest if I were to volunteer to be a J-to-E proofreader since I can imagine myself arguing over how Seiji “sounds” like. ;3

Either way, thanks for your work in spreading the otome game fever to people who can’t read Japanese. 😀

      • Phoenix Goddess
      • August 19th, 2011

We don’t really need recordings or a guide, but I think it would be great if you were a beta tester if you’re used to doing scanlations 🙂
      Is that okay?

      • Unfortunately, circumstances leave me unable to simultaneously play the original and the beta versions since I’d only be able to have 1-2 hours of game time everyday in the immediate future. ^_^;

I’ll be sure to direct people in my blog about your TMGS3 translation project though, and be available for anything you might need during emergencies (there sure were enough instances back in the glory days of scum-scans) in either graphics editing (I’m going to assume PS use) or translation. I can always make time to help your group’s contributions to expanding the international popularity of otome games in the world to non-Japanese speakers. ;D

Hngh, I hate to leave contact information so readily available, so I’ll just say I have a gmail account under my nickname.

        • Phoenix Goddess
        • August 21st, 2011

We have quite a few graphic editors already, but I would really appreciate your help during emergencies! ^____^
Haha, don’t worry, we rather like having a quiet blog. It gives lots of room to translate 🙂

I’m looking for the rom right now, and I’m not asking you to link me to one, but can we for a moment just lament on the lack of reliable rom sites nowadays? *sigh*

Looking forward to playing this! I’ve tried playing GS1 in Japanese and it’s just so much better when you can understand everything they’re saying rather than one in three words. Thanks so much for this!

Since -snip- went down I’ve had a heck of a time finding the roms I want–and it took me forever to find a non-trimmed version of GS2 too. A bunch of sites said their file was 256, but it really wasn’t! The few sites I’ve found so far have horrendous download times. ._.

Hello, I wonder if you’re going to translate Hakuoki series on DS? 🙂 I heard they’re pretty good and interesting 😀

I’ve already played TMGS1 n TMGS2 (it’s all thanks for your english patch so I could get my love, Himuro Sensei!!)

    • Hello, we don’t know if we are or not. If they’re successful with the Hakuouki localization on PSP, they may do the same with the DS version, as well as the other Hakuouki games on DS. So we probably won’t touch Hakuouki until we hear further information 🙂

        • reiichi01
        • August 5th, 2011

ok, hope Hakuoki on PSP will become a successful project, so more otome games will be translated into english!^^

But I was curious. Are you going to translate Tokimeki memorial girls side 3? Or do you plan to if you arent now?

I’m not sure if I post in the right place, but I found an error in your translation patch.

When I met Amachi after school, I tried to call him Shouta-kun and asked him to go home together. But what I said was my name instead. (It’s okay, when I tried with other nick name or when invite him to a coffee shop)

    • We have an error report form, but it’s locked right now because we’re getting ready for beta testing. The error was reported on the error report and was fixed 🙂

all three options and it doesn’t want to work
    there’s even a message saying:

“Invalid input. This typically means that the file you selected to patch is not the file your patch is intended for.”

If I had some mistakes regarding patching, please kindly tell me, I followed the instructions that was written I just don’t get it why it doesn’t want to work

    • Hmm… Can you send me an email so I can send better instructions?

      • Farsi
      • February 13th, 2011

Yeah, I ran into the same problem when I tried patching the game in Parallels on my Mac – which is weird, because I was able to patch TMGS1 with no issue. I actually think it might have something with the file extension on the patch itself, which I think is different from the TMGS1 patch. When I DLed the TMGS2 patch on my Mac the file extension appeared twice, and it wouldn’t allow me to modify it for some odd reason. Redownloading the file didn’t work either. I don’t know WHY it happened, it just did. It’s possible that Mac OS just really don’t like that extension for some odd reason! My other guess is that Wine (which I believe you are using?) or Parallels don’t like working with the xDelta program, and it has trouble following the paths the folders which contain the patch and the game are in, but that seems kind of like a longshot. Either way I think it prevents the program from patching properly and no amount of tinkering on my end managed to fix it. My eventual solution was to hop on a PC and patch the file there, then transfer the patched file to my Mac. I’ve had no issues with it since then.

      • Yeah, the beta test patches from V1 to V4 used .patch, but after that, it wouldn’t work anymore. Every time the testers tried to patch it, it’d white screen them, so I switched to xdeltaGUI_mod and all was well, again.

My apologies, but many translations have this issue with Macs.

    • Vivian Takahashi
    • January 26th, 2011
