Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 2nd Season Updated Patch

8/6/2011 update: There is an optional patch on the download page for those who wish to go for Hariya. It fixes the date choice glitch at the castle with him.

We stated before that we wouldn’t make a new patch unless it was for a game freeze or crash, but I managed to find a little time in my schedule to look over the files and noticed quite a few errors and the below are fixed/added.

  • Translated as many tutorial graphics as I could that wouldn’t glitch (Sports Festival, Valentine’s Day, and Pillow Fight).
  • Fixed the choice glitch that happens with Hikami.
  • Fixed the majority of grammar/spelling/other errors.
  • Retranslated a few scripts in each character’s files.

If you see an English error that we missed, our apologies, we fixed as many as we could find during thorough proofreading. We tried to make the Valentine Chocolate game a bit easier, but the best we could do was translate a few graphics.  If you experience any game freeze or crash, please let me know. Don’t forget to use the format under the FAQ page! This patch isn’t required to fully play the game, it’s just a cleaner patch to enjoy the game more.

You’ll find it on the download page. Thank you for all who helped make this possible! We hope you enjoy it!

We only provide a patch, not the rom. We cannot link you to roms. Sorry!

2011-10-15 EDIT: There’s text missing in the girl endings that was just reported. It’s the same text for all four girls. Until I find some time to make another patch(I’ve made one too many already), this will have to wait until BoB is done. We’re currently working on BoB and TMGS3 already as well as juggling school and work, so our schedule is already packed.
But here is the text that’s missing:

 The myth didn’t come
true, but I met
a good friend.
It was a good 3 years.

I think I will be
experiencing many
meetings and goodbyes
from now on too.

Still, we will remain
friends. I feel that
way. Surely… we will
be friends forever.

Thank you for your work on translating this series of games.

I am not sure what else to put here, but I wanted to leave a notice of appreciation for your hard work before I try anything else with these games.

    Now… Where’s that import website again…

Hello. I’ve had the good fortune to stumble upon your site whilst searching for English translations of Japanese DS games. I want to express my sincerest thank-yous for the energy and dilligence you’ve invested in your translations, and I am proud to say that it was via your translations that I was introduced to the otome game genre. Many thanks for providing English-speaking fans with the opportunity to play fun games which would otherwise be unavailable to us! I admire your knowledge of Japanese (it is no easy feat; if I could, I’d trade both my English and Spanish for an intermediate level Japanese) and that you are willing to break the language barriers of games in order for them to become more understood and playable.
Since I found very few active translation groups in my search, I decided to stop by and leave a comment of appreciation and gratitude for your efforts. Knowing a foreign language which is quite difficult and rather hermetic by nature is a great advantage for it opens doors to a reality that is inaccessible for many. Thus I imagine that you are very busy with other projects at the moment, and it may be possible sometimes for the workload you have to dampen the initial impetus of your translation undertakings. For those such moments I will repeat myself and say thank you, and don’t forget or doubt that your efforts are acknowledged and cherished, very much so!
I’ve read that you do not take requests, so you are in your right to ignore my attempt at a proposition(?)…but if I may be so bold as to mention that, should you be willing to translate something ”outside the genre” as you said, I would be overjoyed, elated, over the moon with glee if you would find it of interest to translate Saeki Chizu Shiki Yumemihada – Dream Skincare DS game. I’ve seen the trailer some time ago, and was excited about the idea of an in-depth skincare tutorial ‘game’ with explicit video and instructions for tips and techniques; but given that it’s now 2013, I’ve lost hope that Konami would ever release it worldwide, and that’s a terrible shame and loss – all womankind should have the possibility to learn and practice Japanese skincare routines and maybe inch in closer to Nipponesse dimensions of beauty. But I’ve digressed enough. It is not a request, just a stray whimsical thought that I wished to put out there in hopes it is possibly deserving of your consideration and interest.
That is all. I’ve been far too wordy as it is. Thank you for reading my comment. (If you ever choose to, anticipated thanks for the above mentioned proposition/suggestion). May you continue creating translations for long time to come – hopefully you will enjoy creating them as much as we enjoy reading/playing them 🙂

Hello, just wondering if maybe you have a link to a USRcheat.dat for this game? I have been trying for a month now to get an ending and still no luck… thinking it has to do with my inability to get good stats. Please & thank you!

How you said you already have games lined up for translation, would you ever put up links or an announcement for it? Sorry for asking, it sounded interesting that you were translating more games. 🙂 (Love your translations, by the way)

    • We’ll announce the game we’re currently translating once we have enough progress on it. This goes for all future projects, as well! Thanks for the support, we’ll get it out there for you guys as soon as we can!

Hi, I just wanted to ask you where I should download the V4, V3, V2 et V1 patch?
Otherwise, Really thank you for your hard work !! 😀
I’m impatient to play to this game !! 😀

    • Hi there! You don’t need the v1-4 patches because you only need one patch at a time! In this case, it’d be the v6 patch with every bug and error fixed, so just download v6, apply it to a clean, unpatched ROM and you’re good to go!

        • Jihae
        • February 6th, 2012

Thank you very very much ! 😀 I just fixed the patch ! 😀
oh and, Does Tokimeki memorial girl’s side 2nd season is the same as tokimeki memorial 2nd kiss?

      • From the GameFAQs guide :
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 2ND SEASON, THE PS2 ORIGINAL, AND 1ST LOVE

~ 2nd Season has expanded on where 2nd Kiss left off on Love Mode: You now get
to walk home with a guy when a date has gone particularly well. Along the way,
you’ll get to poke at him to net you a number of skinship points (more on that
        in the Dating section)

~ Skinship has evolved greatly from 1st Love. Instead of just poking with your
stylus, you now get to use different methods of using it to have different
interactions and trigger a separate set of reactions. Lovely 😀

~ Unlike 2nd Kiss, checking in with Yuu no longer takes up an entire day. This
definitely makes the whole bomb-defusing process a lot easier.

~ Bomb frequency also seems to have decreased significantly – you may find
that certain characters don’t bomb you once in a single game!

~ More endings have been added to the mix. Characters such as Saeki and Hariya
can have as many as 5 endings each!

~ Skinship for event CGs is much less complex. You no longer have to worry
(much) about bad skinship with the guys, as most of the CGs now don’t have
negative skinship points. (there are exceptions to this rule, however.)

~ Addition of more event CGs for most of the male characters. With more
        unlockable goodies, who can resist?

~ The love panel has also been edited slightly in 2nd Season! It’s a lot easier
to read now, as compared to 1st Love. (more on that in the Skinship section)

~ And best of all: All the dialogue gets voiced this time round. Even that of
the random classmates/date disturbers/extra people involved in events. A
        definite improvement!

Heey, thank for the translations. I love these games and in Japanese it’s fun to watch the game, but playing not a lot :P. How is TMGS 3 going? If u need beta testers let me know :).

    • We haven’t announce TMGS3 yet! As such, we haven’t calculated how things are going either. We’ll get it out there when/if there’s enough done for an announcement! ^A^

Thanks so much for translating this! I will definitely put it onto my flashcard (whenever it arrives…)!

If possible, maybe you could consider translating Uta no Prince-sama sometime in the future? 🙂

    Again, thanks /so/ much!

    • We’re sorry, but we don’t currently do translating requests~ The team has a bunch of games lined up (not revealed, but rest assured that they’re fun!) so we’ll be working on those instead. We do hope you’ll have fun with the ones we do release though! ^A^

      • Phoenix Goddess
      • January 4th, 2012

We don’t really take translation requests, but those games are a bit harder to translate because the games have custom compression and not the usual compression, but you never know 🙂

      EDIT: What Zydaline said XD

Hello! I downloaded your patch some months ago, and just realized that I never properly thanked you for letting it exist in the first place. So yeah. Thank you so much to everyone that was involved :’D Even though I wanted to try these games on a whim, it still is an awesome thing that you guys did.

(…And now I can’t wait for the patch for the third game, considering how atrocious my Japanese is. This is what you internet people do to me 😐 )

    • Thank you for your thank yous! That’s right, we’re all here to tempt you! (And to make the patches that drain all your time away for weeks on end =D)

Thanks again all of you for your hard work. I don’t know if you have any idea how much this means to some of the fans but the majority of us have either written off ever seeing a game like this in english, or have waited almost 10 years (or more, for some titles. I’m looking at you Neo Romance T_T) for a TRUE otome game to come into english.

Just wondering, are you the same group that patch TMGS1?

      • Phoenix Goddess
      • November 4th, 2011

      Ahahaha, you’re welcome.

No, we’re not the same group, but since it was an open translation, we did help with the translating.

So, you guys are already working on 3rd story? Do you know when you’ll post any info about your progress on the site?

    • Yes, we are currently working on TMGS3. As for progress info, we don’t know yet – we’ll post progress when there’s progress or a patch to be posted. Please be patient with us!

        • Phoenix Goddess
        • October 26th, 2011

What Zyd said, really. We won’t announce it until we have enough done to announce. That way we know if any hacking snags that will make the translation slow down or dropped.

We’ll announce it when we have more than a few folders and graphics done, though.

  2. BoB ? What game is it ? o:

    *reads latest update*
Ah, okay. It’s the same text as the Buddy Ending for the guys as well. Glad I wasn’t missing anything too important.

You guys are amazing people. I can’t wait until the patch for TMGS3 is done. 🙂 Actually, I wouldn’t mind helping. It would be nice to learn how to translate games and stuff (even though I don’t know much Japanese). I am aiming for a Computer Science degree and working on a fun project for a great game would be a great experience. Plus, helping people enjoy this game in English would be rewarding. I could see why you guys do what you do, even though it is stressing at times.

      • Phoenix Goddess
      • October 18th, 2011

It’s more of trying to get a full project done while having to work, go to school, want to play games but can’t, and have a life of your own that’s the tough part. So I wouldn’t jump into translations unless you’re ready to sacrifice stuff sometimes, hahaha. If you do decide to learn romhacking(or Japanese), I wouldn’t mind helping you get a headstart, but it’s a little hard sometimes for games with strange file formats and pointers.
That’s amazing, though. Computer Science is very interesting! Good luck with it!

We’ve started working on TMGS3 while editing is going on with Blood of Bahamut. We’re not going to make a post and big announce it yet, though. Waiting to hear back from Inori and not enough progress for a big announcement right now.

We do have a lot of graphics out of the way now, though, so you’ll be able to understand the mini-games in the first patch. Dating scripts will take a moment to do, but thankfully, the guys in TMGS3 has 150 less date script files than the guys in TMGS2. This doesn’t mean the game itself has less script, just that there are less date scripts.

Just a mini-announcement before the big one.

Gambatte guys!! We do await the release of the TMGS3 in English! I have problems dating Konno and I think english translations will help me with these… ^_^

It won’t be aaaaany time soon, as we’ve just started. But I hope it will help your problems dating Konno.

Hello guys!! I’m very thankful for your successful release of TokiMemo GS2! I’m looking forward seriously to the translated version of tokimemo 3rd story… May I ask what is the status of it now? Thanks ^_^
Hope we can play it soon

    • Right now, Gokusaishiki is working on Blood of Bahamut – though that’s almost done and ready for beta testing, at 95% completion. Right after that they’re going to start in earnest on TMGS3. I think PG has some stuff done though, like the tools and some stuff extracted and thingamajigs. >A<

      Hello,

There seems to be a glitch with Hariya because when he asked he to go to the castle with him and I chose to see the exhibition corner it freezes when i pick I pick “I’m troubled as there are lots of things” and “Studying history is tiring”. (there’s no third option). Any ideas why? :S

    • Hello Cherrypop,

It was appearing like that because choices in TMGS2 can only have up to two lines, but I missed this one somehow(It had three lines). My apologies!
Does the new patch on the download page fix the problem for you?

I just wanted to say how wonderful it is, that you guys would go through the trouble to edit your already finished patch. It wasn’t needed, any leftover glitch or mini-error(at least the ones I found) was so minor that it really didn’t affect the game at all! And so to see this be done after all the work put into it previously, it’s very heartwarming :’3
That’s all this otome freak wanted to put in~
