Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side: 2nd Kiss Patch V1!

After half a year of making you wait, {gokusaishiki} are proud to announce that an English translation patch for Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side: 2nd Kiss (1st Patch) will be available for download! You should see a new page under the “TMGS2” section called “Downloads”. We’ve also added a “Credits” page in the same section to acknowledge all the people who made this possible.

Like the name suggests, this is only Version 1 of the patch. Things that are not translated in this patch, as mentioned on the dowload page are the following:

  • Some graphics
  • E-mails
  • Skinship
  • Field Trip files
  • New Year’s Shrine Visit files
  • Endings

WE WILL NOT PROVIDE ROMS FOR YOU. PLEASE DO NOT ASK.

umm im really sorry to ask but could someone please help me patch this game… I know next to nothing about patching and I would so happy if someone could help me patch it.

    • First, Google “Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 2nd Season rom”. Google should give you plenty of links to choose from. Once you’ve downloaded one, extract it with winrar. That’s a program too, so if Windows tells you it doesn’t know what to do with the .rar file, get Winrar. (Google this too, since it’s free)

Make sure the .nds file that you’ve extracted from the rar is 256mb.

Next, open the xdeltaUI mod that we’ve given you in the patch. There will be three sections, all with the OPEN/… button beside. Basically you click on them and select these.

Patch : Choose the .xdelta file that you’ve downloaded from us
Source file : Choose the ROM you downloaded
Output file : Choose somewhere you want your patched rom to be. For example, choose your desktop, and type in a name you want. E.g : TMGS2.nds

Hit apply. In a few minutes, you’ll find your TMGS2.nds on your desktop and ready to play!

when the second patch is released, will it include everything in the first patch or will the content in both remain seperate? :O

    • Everything from the first patch. All script will be translated, proofread and tested. The only things we didn’t translate are the tutorial graphics. They just say the same thing the actual tutorials say, so there was really no point to translating them.

I’ll take an eye on this site if you’re planning to translate Will O’Wisp.
I don’t have much time to try TMGS2 (and your patch) right now, but I think it must be an hard work to translate a whole game so I thank you for that anyway, it’s good to have the chance to play Jap games in a language I understand.
        All the best! ^^

Thanks for your hard work! I feel really bad for not doing anything useful. But I’m glad you decided to translate this.

Anyway, I saw in Chris’s description when you consult Yuu, something about girls then it says ‘to get candy? maybe.’ I don’t know but it doesn’t make sense to me… Well, just to let you know… Thank you for translating TMGS2 ^^

    • I edited your post taking out the request because we don’t condone rom requesting.

Chris loves chocolate. Girls give chocolate to guys for Valentine’s Day. I’m not quite sure what you don’t understand about that if you play the game @_@

        • April 19th, 2011

Haha… I didn’t quite know that, sorry. Anyway, about the candy stuff, I had a hard time comprehending about it being chocolate. ^^” Sorry for the bother.

      • I can’t make it chocolate cause chocolate exceeds the text limit.

  1. I just want to tell you how thankful I am that you guys worked on this. I played the game non-stop this past week and have finally slowed down…after getting all of Waka-sensei’s CG’s >_> If you guys have a Paypal and accept donations, I would like to donate to show my appreciation ^_^

I can’t wait for the final release!! Again, thank you so much for all of your hard work you guys!

    • Thanks! We`re glad that you enjoy the game.

Although we appreciate your sentiments, we do not accept donations because it wouldn`t be right to. We decided to do this because we wanted to let those that couldn`t understand Japanese a chance to play such an awesome game — not to make a quick buck on the side.

Besides, given the current news, we would prefer that you donate to any relief fund for Japan (like the Red Cross) or any other charity instead.

      • That’d be the biggest help of all and those people are worth more money than any translation 🙂

Thanks a lot for all your efforts. I’m not a big otome game fan, but Love Plus had plenty of potential to improve, so I can’t wait for the final release.

Just out of curiosity, how did you find 2nd Kiss? Was it a major improvement from the first game? Were there any gameplay changes, or was it pretty much the same old with different guys?

    • I imported a copy a year after I started learning Japanese and I really liked it. I didn’t know how much of an improvement it was from First Love until I played that. First Love was indeed just that. It was waaay too innocent for me, but Second Kiss had a balance of innocent and perversion, which was perfect for me, because well… I’m quite a pervert sometimes, haha.

Actually never mind about that previous post!

The issue now is that I now have a file, (just a ‘file’) that I named, which is the result of the patching process. It doesn’t have anything at the end of it, no .nds or .sav or etc. Is this supposed to happen?
I put the file into my ds, didn’t work – didn’t appear anywhere-
I put the file and the game in my ds, didn’t work either.

Am I doing this wrong, what should I do?
    Thank you!

Um, I’m encountering an issue in regards to the patching program. I’ve downloaded the program from the given website, and there seems to be a problem when extracting it. The message appears as “No archives found”.

Is there a way to solve this? Could I use another patching program instead?

    Please reply soon (:

I have a question for you. You have to have a certain capacity to become a beta tester? The reason is simple..I want to help you > w w <

    • Hi, and thank you for your offer!

Here are some of the basic things a tester needs to have:

      1. Time. You have to have a LOT of spare time to play the game. As Phoenix Goddess said in the forum: “Not ‘right now’ time, weeks of free time. No, that doesn’t mean you have to be a bum, it means you have enough time to dedicate to the project as a tester.”
      2. Dedication. Beta testing doesn’t just entail playing the game, you have to be willing to go through any route assigned to you, look through all the dating choices, religiously list down any errors you find, etc. We’ve had a lot of bad experiences with testers who disappear off the face of the planet shortly after testing starts, and it causes our leaders/translators a lot of stress. We’d rather save them from any more stress.
      3. A good grasp of English (American/British) spelling and grammar would be best, because most (though not all) of the errors are typographical in nature.

Just drop by the forum for more information, and to apply if you want to become a beta tester. 🙂

        Okay, I understand > w <
It's really great effort! I'll think about it a bit'up. With English I don't have many problems, but I'm afraid to report errors wrong D: It's a really stupid fear, but what can I do '-' However, if you give me a chance, I'll be happy to accept it (:

Forgive me for this shortcomings, it’s the first time that I enter in a forum *^* However, I learn quickly, so don’t even need to be bad > w <

I want to say, bless you translators. T_T; I’ve been wanting to play Otome games for a couple of years now(3years-4?) but never got to due to my very horrible Japanese Kanji. XD I’m so-so with words but I doubt that’s gonna take me far since I don’t know anything in their letter symbols. ._. I recently got hooked into Tokimeki Girl’s Side 1st Love Plus 4days ago after I found out about Otome games are being translated from Japanese to English by people like you! I didn’t really plan on going, AHH, SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A TRANSLATED ENGLISH PATCH FOR THE 2ND/3RD one considering I don’t want to be picky but to my luck, I encountered here, this site(-sweat-) who’s doing the 2nd and 3rd one! So, just really, thank you. I really enjoy this Otome game.. and I don’t know any other Otome games to look for so yeah. Not to mention, I really like Konami games. Big Suikoden fan. Keke. XD So, thank you for the effort. No, I won’t ask how to get the ROM(because I already got the 2nd and 3rd one ready! Eager player. XD) or when will it be done. I still got long ways to go in my 1st Love Plus so all the best! Don’t over-stress yourself over the patch and forget about those people who give, “Meh, lousy translating,” comments. I mean, if they can do better, they should be the one doing it. :/

Good luck on completing the patch and stay healthy! 😀

    • If you’re free, we’re looking for a tester to test before the official release 🙂

You seem enthusiastic and have amazing grammar, so let me know if you want to.

Testing takes place on the forum, though.

Thank you for your kind words!

Ehhh, really? Ironically I came back here to get the Version 1 patch because I was planning to play the 2nd one today to cool off my head over being NOT CONFESSED to by Hazuki for like, the 5th time at the church. Thank god I got Tendo today or else I feel like a failure of a girl in the game. Zzz.

So, what do you want me to do? Or at least, as a tester; I read the forum and I’m wondering whether you want the tester to play the game, read the scripts, check grammar and report or just get a file from you and see the script. xD

Also, no problem. I mean, it really gets you down when people don’t see your efforts. I should know. I failed 5 times for Hazuki. Talk about 10+ hours of nothing. Grr. :/

        • Adrissa Adam
        • March 11th, 2011

Wait, that was a stupid question. Beta tester would mean playing it and checking errors right? Haha. If it’s so then I don’t mind helping out. (: I usually play the game at night when everything I got on the day blows over. 🙂

      • Yep, that’s exactly what testing is. You play the beta patch and report any errors that you see (Typos, grammar, crashes, freezes, anything that looks strange or makes no sense) but try not to report too many comma errors, haha.

If you do want to, just head over to the forum and let me know 🙂

Phoenix Goddess :What is the error you’re getting when you try to patch it?

i have already patched the game but when i run it on my R4 SDHC it won’t run so do i need some kind of firmware or something please help me!!!

    • I don’t know much about the R4 SDHC or what firmware you already have.

    • I think the R4SDHC has a problem running the TMGS series. What you can do is this.

      1. Download this : http://filetrip.net/f24000-RetroGameFan-Multi-Cart-Update-6-49.html

2.Unpack it, extract the R4sdhc folder.

3.Put everything in the folder except the How to install.txt into your cart. You should backup your cart before putting it in.

4.Start your DS. Run ttmenu.nds. It’ll boot a second menu. Run the patched game.

If this doesn’t work, then follow the instructions on the How to install.txt. Generally I find what I’ve told you enough to get it running. If it still doesn’t, get back here and tell me what you’re doing and we’ll see if I can help.

      • *3. Put everything in the folder into your cart

    Lucía :
I can not patch the game. Anyway, tomorrow I will try applying the patch, if I do I inform you.
Sorry for any inconvenience I’m causing…

Lucia, here’s what you should do. I’ll break it down to simple steps.

    1. Download xdelta_gui here : http://cfile211.uf.daum.net/attach/1255E31A49C5CDA5588C4A
    2. Download the patch from Gokusaishiki here :
    http://www.mediafire.com/?v545b2d3vbfip7m
    3. Download the rom from somewhere else. Right click on the .nds file, click properties, and make sure the size is 256mb.
    4. Open up the xdelta_gui.exe
    5. Click select patch. A window will pop up. Choose the patch you downloaded from Gokusaishiki.
    6. Click select rom. Choose the rom you downloaded.
    7. It’ll patch. Depending on your computer, it should take a few minutes. Once it’s done (you’ll know it’s done when you can click on the buttons again) check your desktop. It’ll be called temp.nds or something like that with a 245 mb size.

Put the game in. Now, note this. R4 sdhc usually have problems running games. If you’ve patched it but your cart still gives your some error when you try to play it, come back here. I’ll tell you what you secondary firmware you need to play it/how to use it.

Sorry for any inconvenience I’m causing…

    • I don’t think you’re an inconvenience.

I think you should try downloading:

A new clean rom from another source. Make sure the game is 256MB

A fresh download of the patch.

Then try to patch it again.

The patched version should be 245MB and it should have .nds at the end of it.

When will the second version of the patch? if I can download the first I hope to come out the second.
I feel that my English is so bad, and thank you very much for your help!
        Goodbye!

Thank you so much! I played first Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side and I love it, and when I saw there are people working on the English patch I was “OMG!”. We should donate on holidays in Hawaii for eveyone who worked on it 😀

I hope you understand me, since my English isn’t very good.

    • Haha, I think all of the fans should plan a trip to Hawaii so we can all squee together XD

That is a big relief. Thank you so much. I’m really honored to be working with you guys if you’ll accept me as a beta tester.

This makes being snowed in so much better.

    • January 26th, 2011

First of all, thank you so much. The organization and speed of this project is very admirable. Project leaders show very good leadership. Alistair would be proud. xD

My only concern is this. I’ve played through once going for both Hikami and Masaki, but now that I’ve reached the ending it’s not translated. I’m concerned as to when you patch it, that creates an entirely separate ROM. Hence, after version 2 of the patch is released, in order to view the translated endings, I must replay the entire game, correct? Unless you patch the patched ROM with the new full translation file, I don’t see how you can carry over save files. I’m using desmume. I’m merely hypothesizing, so I don’t know what exactly will happen until the second patch is out.

I know plenty of others will encounter the same problem as me, and if so, the easiest way would be to post translated versions of the endings online, but of course that decision is entirely up to you guys. It would just save (at least me personally) a full playthrough (5-10 hours) if you guys considered doing this.

But anyways, I’m tremendously excited and thank you all. I’m bitter I missed the second round of beta tester signing because I check the forum like… ten times a day. -goes back to finishing Landsmeet-

    • I honestly do not know what the ramifications are for people who are using emulators (since I don`t use them a great deal) when the new patch comes out. I kind of have an idea, but I`ll have to check it out to see if it`s true/it works.

I know for sure that people playing on their DS won`t face this problem, as they can just rename their save file to whatever the new file is called or just call the new file what the old fild was called. I`ve done this numerous times, so I`m 100% sure this works.

If worse comes to worse, we might do what you suggested, or we might not.

      • You got my attention at “Alistair would be proud” XD
Just for that, I can fit you into the testing XD (Actually, I need one more person due to another person dropping out)

This is where the beta testers come in. There will be no problem with the saves, actually. When the second patch comes out, you patch a clean version of the rom. It will then have a complete translation. All you have to do after that is change the save file’s name to the name of the rom and it’ll play (As long as you keep the save right before the endings, you can see the endings in English) or you can choose to replay the entire game since the New Year’s, Group Dates, Field Trip and skinships will be in English also 🙂

All in all, don’t worry, you can keep your save and it’ll work with the second patched version!

  6. Doumo Arigatou Gozaimasu ! 😀 for this patch ❤ I'm really thankful for people like you who devote so much effort into translating games in order to share them with others 🙂

    • No problem!

      I’m glad you’re excited about it ^_^
      I hope it’s to your liking 🙂

      • It is 🙂 again, thanks ^__^ ❤

  7. Ruru :

I didn’t mean to offend if I did, I was only offering my opinion as a native English speaker and a learner of Japanese, there was no need to be rude.

We`re native English speakers, too, and we`re both fine with that particular phrase.

If and when you learn about translating, you`ll find that if you translate too literally, you`ll risk not making much sense, not making any sense at all, or give unnatural English.

I`m sure in these parts, the word “よかった” was more or less used. That literally means “That was good” (it`s past tense of いい), but we`re obviously not going to put that. Another example is when you combine a verb in て form + 良かった, as in 日本語を勉強してよかった. You wouldn`t translate that as “It was good that I studied Japanese”, you would put it as “I`m glad I studied Japanese”.

This is a note to everybody: Just because you haven`t heard of it, it doesn`t mean it`s wrong. When people say that they`ve never heard of a certain phrase, we actually ask other people if they have or haven`t heard of it. If there are a few people that say they`ve heard of it, we leave it as it is. If little to no people have heard of it, we search for another phrase.

I’m loving the patch so far but there’s just thing I’m wondering about. Many of the characters seem to aay ‘Thank gosh’ when ‘Thank you’ seems just as apporiate/better. I’ve only played Waka, Shiba and Masaki but does everyone say ‘Thank gosh?’

    • I think the words that corresponded to all the thank goshes was yokatta, which means something like “I’m glad.” Which would mean it wouldn’t translate to ‘thank you.’

      Just random observation, though. :3

        • blunbear
        • January 24th, 2011

Ahhh I see ^ ^ /was just going off the english patch. Thanks for clearing that up~

      • Well, a lot of the “Thank Gosh” responses were exclamations of relief, which would translate as, “Thank God” a lot of people don’t believe in God, even in Japan, so we didn’t want to make each of them, “Thank God”. There are a few “Thank God” responses, though.

        • Ruru
        • January 26th, 2011

I noticed the whole ‘thank gosh’ thing too and it seems really weird, maybe because I’ve never actually heard the term used ever before. ‘Thank goodness’ would work a lot better, and in some instances just ‘I’m glad’ since I think I saw at one point “Thank gosh he liked it” whereas ‘I’m glad he liked it!” would make more sense.

Another thing I’m curious about is, when the second version of the patch is out, or the completed version or whichever, will it still work with the saved games that have been created with the first patch? I just don’t want to start CG hunting if I’m going to have to start again with the completed patch /:

      • First of all, go learn Japanese.
We followed what the Japanese said. Would you like to see a load of “Thank God”s everywhere? How do you think the people who don’t believe in God would feel? The Japanese for the “He liked it” said specifically that. Here, let me show you an example: “気に入ってくれたみたい!” Let me break that down for you.

        気に入って – Pleased with/suits

        くれた – Give/let a person have/do for, many definitions.

        みたい – Like/sort of/resembled/seemed

Together it would be, “He seemed pleased with it!” But that’s too literal, so we put, “He seemed to like it!”
So no, “I’m glad” wouldn’t have been enough if the Japanese said more. We had room for it, so we put what it said.
Just because you haven’t heard of something, doesn’t make it wrong. (Simply because the world doesn’t revolve around one person)
Not to mention, “I’m glad!” Well… what are you glad about?

I don’t know whether or not you know about flashcarts or emulators, but usually saves work for a specific game when you match up the save and the game title. In other words, you won’t have to restart anything.

        • Ruru
        • January 26th, 2011

I didn’t mean to offend if I did, I was only offering my opinion as a native English speaker and a learner of Japanese, there was no need to be rude.

        • Ruru
        • January 26th, 2011

Also, I never even mentioned ‘Thank God’ /:

      • I’m a native English speaker and learning Japanese. I was also the one who helped translate it. You said it didn’t sound right simply because “you hadn’t heard of it”. How does that make any sense? You probably haven’t heard every language in the world, that doesn’t make it wrong.

I’m not sure if you were following the conversation before jumping into it, but “Thank goodness” and other alternatives were mentioned. That was my thank God reference.

        • Ruru
        • January 26th, 2011

I didn’t say it didn’t sound right “because I’ve never heard it”, I said “maybe because I’ve never heard it actually used”. It genuinely just seemed a bit jarring on my first playthrough to see ‘thank gosh’ all the time. This probably doesn’t mean anything, but I edit manga in a scanlation group, so I’m used to having to sometimes proofread and adjust the translation to fit a western audience, so that’s also why I decided to comment.

And I did follow the conversation before ‘jumping into it’ I even searched the entire page before commenting to see if anyone else had thought like me. Like I said, I only commented to give my opinion, like everyone else here, and to ask about later patches affecting the saved game.

About the ‘Thank God’ thing, I agree that some people might take offence/take it the wrong way, but I think in a game where your character visits the shrine to pray, people wouldn’t be too bothered by it. That being said, I’m not saying that all the ‘yokatta’ would look better as ‘Thank God’ but just interpreting it as different things for the different situations/moods so it doesn’t get repetitive.

And I knew you were a translator on the project (: I’ve been following the forum/blog for about half a year, since I saw your post on GBAtemp forums. I probably should have thanked the team for their effort on this on my first comment ^^”

This comment turned out longer than expected /: I genuinely didn’t mean to annoy you or anything, so I’m sorry that I did. I was also initially going to offer myself if you needed anyone to help with any of the graphics editing, but I guess there’s no point now >.>

      • I’m totally confused.

I’m not sure what scanlations have to do with it, because proofreading doesn’t really tell you what the Japanese says…

There’s more than one God when you go pray at a shrine. Saying “Thank God” as a replacement would be too complicated because of the religious view and the many meanings. You’ll see when the second patch comes out.

And technically speaking, it’s a repetitive game.

      • Patricia
      • January 24th, 2011

Yeah. =O I was wondering if “thank goodness” was a smoother translation. I guess just for me that thank gosh has a feminine feeling to it.

      Doesn’t really matter though. xD

      • I think “homg” is feminine, but my guy friends still say it, despite my eye twitch.

And when you think about it, Hariya never uses the term “Thank goodness” it’s too proper for him.

      • And I still get called a skank by my male friends.

I`ll keep this in mind though, as this is more stylistic (as we`re both females). I don`t think we`ll be specifically changing it this time, though. Otherwise we`d have to locate it every time it`s said, and if memory serves, it`s been said a lot.

      • It’d be super duper hard to locate too T_T

Maybe as hard as trying to locate every “…Word” to change to “… Word”

Hi! Thank you so much for all the hard work! When I first saw that an otome game had finally been translated, I was filled with elation! But, alas, I discover that it’s supposed to be played on the DS…

Now, I know this may seem like a really stupid question, but I am not experienced in all this stuff, so bear with me.

Is this supposed to be played on the DS?
Is there any way to make it play on the PC?
What exactly is this “ROM” you speak of (not asking for links, just an explanation)?

Any answers would be much appreciated! I want to play an otome game~~

      • Arichii
      • January 21st, 2011

It’s supposed to be played on the DS but you can play it on your PC too, just find an Nintendo DS emulator such as NO$GBA or whatever other DS emulators there are out there and you can play the game on your computer 🙂

A ROM is basically a computer file that has data from a read-only-memory chip. So when people are talking about ROMs they’re talking about the file from a game that was put onto a computer. (At least that’s what I think it is :))

Also THANKYOU EVERYONE WHO WORKED ON THIS PATCH XD. This is so much appreciated, because I thought I would never get to play this game in English and now that it’s here I’m very grateful, so thanks a lot ❤

      • You’re so smart T_T
Thank you for explaining that and I’m very glad you are enjoying the patch! I wanted to put the endings in the first patch since they were already done, but I didn’t want to add more onto the testers D:

Thank you for your support! ^_^

Nadja: You can go here to download Desmume or no$gba. No$gba has some ugly graphics sometimes.

    Phoenix Goddess :
Haha, Hima! How have you been?
Yeah, I jumped down their throat pretty hardcore due to the amount of stress the translation has put me under. So for someone to call it “rough” it really ruffled my feathers.

Hey =) I’ve been ok. Really busy with school. I have just about 2 assignments due every week and its killing me. How are you? I hope you’re getting more sleep now that the first patch is done =D

Well, I’m sure most people would jump down someone’s throat if their work was called rough after spending months on it. But at least he/she apologized =)

    • I’m doing alright. I’m usually translating when I get online, so I’m not taking a break until TMGS2 is completely finished. Excluding skinship and graphics, I only have 7 script files left to translate 😀
Skinship wise, I have 1 Hikami and 1 Hariya one left.

I’m very glad they apologized 🙂

Oh man, this is so exciting. Thanks for all of your hard work! I’m gonna hold back atm because of tiiiime and stuff. All the same, I’m super grateful, and I have to ask — is there some way to donate to you guys? I benefit so much from English patches, and when I read about how much WORK and time and energy and effort goes into these things (and how occasionally thankless it can be), I can’t help but want to do something! Unfortunately I have zerrroo skills in this area… s-so.

    • Haha, your thanks is enough ^_^

We don’t accept donations though, thank you for the thought however 🙂

I guess it’d be potentially problematic from a legal perspective to accept them, yeah… Well, thanks x 1,000!

    • Feenie`s right, we don`t accept donations.

It`s true that it takes a lot of time and energy to do this, but this was something we decided to do out of our own free will, so it doesn`t make sense for us to accept any material benefit in return.

All we ask is that you enjoy it.

    • If you really do enjoy the game though, you can support Konami by buying the game ^_^

Thank you so much for your kindness in translating this game for us die-hard otome gamers. 😀

I’m really enjoying the game thus far; I’m going for Saeki aka “The Self-centered abusive jerk” first.

I look forward to the final patch when it’s done. Until then, good luck!! And thank you again!!

    • Thank you for your support!

Again, I thank you all for being interested in the game. As I said, without all of you, it wouldn’t have been translated.

  8. Pororo :

She provided a link to the rom, so does that included as ‘the blog has roms’?
haha sorry english is my 2nd language. ;p

    Sorry, I’m confused…
If the blog doesn’t contain any roms of the game, it’s okay to post. But if it does, you can’t post it.

  9. I swear, some people make me want to never translate, again.

oh and when i downloaded the patch, it’s only 4,249KB when it’s supposed to be 245ish MB.

      • Wait lol the patch itself should be about 4.14MB, the patched rom should be 245.

        • Kenny76
        • January 16th, 2011

        oh lol! Yes, my bad.
It ended up as 251.850 KB, a little too much.
But the file type is still FILE not NDS FILE. 😦

      • That could be the rom, itself. Have you tried downloading it from a different site? The clean rom should be 256MB and after you patch it with xdelta_mod, the patched version should come out to 245MB, always make sure it’s actually in English by testing it in an emulator or your flashcart.

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this anywhere else, but in one of the conversations you have with Saeki while walking home, he refers to himself as a ‘barrister’. It should be barista, unless he really is a lawyer and I just never noticed lol. Otherwise, really terrific job. I don’t think that someone will post a link to a ROM here. You have to search for yourself.

    • Can’t post rom links. but even still. it’s extremely easy to find one. ;3 just google search it

      • Nope, rom links can’t be posted here because this site is linked to other sites that cannot be linked to roms or romsites or anywhere to get a rom.

It’s pretty easy to find though, just type in the name of the game and attach rom at the end.
Make sure it says Second Season, though.

There’s a blog that provides the link. And since i’m not sure if we can post any blog links in here, to go to her blog just type this is google: jacqksrants blogspot
      Hope that helps.

      • Hmm? If the blog has roms, we can’t link it here.

        • Pororo
        • January 18th, 2011

She provided a link to the rom, so does that included as ‘the blog has roms’?
haha sorry english is my 2nd language. ;p

Cool that it is ready to be played, but I have a problem

My Problem is and what i do:
I must download rom first and then follow what you have to write here, but what I get from it is 0 MB ROM, I can see that the game I have download is not the same MB as that one there is writing and explain here, I’ve looked around at websites to find the Rom with the same MB you writ here, but all it the same, it’s really sad that I want to play this game

But I do not give up, you find the problem, I hope ^ ^
And sorry do not know a better link, believe it is the game you have to download the patch for

    • There must be something wrong with your internet connection and/or the way you download the game.

There`s nothing that we can do about this.

    • Actually,

“I can see that the game I have download is not the same MB as that one there is writing and explain here”

The downloaded rom should be 256MB, in KB, it’s 262,144KB. If it’s anything different, chances are, it’s trimmed. When you open the patching program, xdelta_mod, use the instructions I gave and patch it. The patched version will come out to 245MB.

Hello ! I’m very happy because of the patch but i have a problem : when i go to the dowload link my computeur says that i can’t go because it’s dangerous. Why ?
Someone can give me an another link please ?

      • Zydaline
      • January 16th, 2011

It could be your antivirus overreacting. That can be overwritten if you turn it off/forcefully ignore it. Both mediafire and filetrip are safe, really.

      • Zydaline is correct. It’s just your antivirus being overprotective.

Malene: Explain to me step by step what you did.
But don’t tell me what site you downloaded the rom from O_O
        Is the clean version 256MB?

I’m so thankful for your work!!

But sadly I can’t make it work! I’d downloaded the delta stuff and followed the instructions but it doesn’t run in my computer… I’m soooo sad! I wanna play it >-<!!

Now I can say good things! Wonderful job!! Thank you sooo much for sharing such a nice thing with us! I believe it’s a very difficult job, translating, programing, and the work end up very professional!
      I’m playing and loving it!

      • Wow, I’m glad you got it to work eventually!

Thank you for your gratitude! ^_^

    • January 16th, 2011

Woohoooo I just finished the first round with Saeki.
Unfortunately I couldn’t understand the end… but as in TMGS 1 it had to be an good one I guess xD

Thank you veeeeery much for this patch. I can’t wait the final patch!!! *jumping around*

    Oh. My. God.

    *spazzes out*

I squealed so loudly when I saw this, I woke my dad napping peacefully outside. But thank you so much! 😀 Now I can finally play without half stumbling through the Japanese.

  10. Ah it’s been a while since I’ve said anything here. Well, I have been lurking and stuff (as usual), but still.

Just wanted to congratulate you for all your hard work.

I know I never did anything or encouraged you guys regularly or anything, but I just wanted you to know I’m really happy for you guys. Really. Even happier than the time I found a whole site filled with seiyuu pics. Or the time…I’ll think I’ll just spare you guys XD

OK that was random and cheesy, but I hope you’ll be able to take a break or something, because I know you guys have been working your brains out.

*goes to lurk at the forum*

(I think I’m going to join it now~)

    • Haha, no, we’re not taking a break yet T_T

      BUT!
Believe it or not, I was the one who suggested a vacation! Inori said, “We’re not done, yet.” That’s right, she’s the one who said no break XD

      • Hmm…if you’re sure then, Inori-san.

Aw man, I wish I’d learnt Japanese earlier (I wanted to when I was younger, then I just kept putting it off). Then I could lend an extra hand.

Sigh. I really do think a break would help you guys concentrate better you know. I’ve learnt that from my various mugging sessions in school.

Either way, I’m rooting for you guys~

        *feels sorry for PG*

  11. I kind of forgot to add the patching program to the download page, but it’s in the forum and on GBATEMP. I used xdelta_mod for the patch. The download page is updated with the program to use for the game!

    Robin :

    Mitsuki :
Really ? How did you do ? I just checked and the patch for the first Tokimeki was a .patch, this one is .xdelta, but I don’t think it changes something…
I tried everything but it still doesn’t work >.<

I was trying to figure out how to use it too and I eventually figured it out. Just use xDelta GUI file and drag everything in that file to a single file. And put the Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side: 2nd Season rom with the TMGS: 2nd Season english patch and both .xDelta and .patch file works with xDelta GUI. You can figure out the rest from here.

This will have to wait tomorrow, but I will try again ^^ Thanks for the answer. Oh and by the way, how much is your nds once patched ? Mine (well, the one that doesn’t work ^^’) is 257mo. But logically it should be less than this since there isn’t the endings and all… Like on the first one, which was like 50mo smaller than the complete game.
Maybe I’m thinking too much –‘

    • I don`t really think it works that way.

The endings (and all other files mentioned) are “missing”, as in they`re not translated. But they`re all still there (in Japanese)

        • January 16th, 2011

        You’re right, I forgot that ^^

I’m sorry if this is written somewhere (that I can’t find because I’m retarded)
But what patching program should we use.
I only have the xDelta_gui patch. Will that suffice? Because I remembered you said that something wouldn’t work with that patcher?

Oh and does this work with Wood R4?

      • Mitsuki
      • January 15th, 2011

I too have a problem with xDelta. Don’t know how to solve this… Does anyone have an idea ? I so want to play this game and now that it is out I have to fight with my R4 ^^’

Oh and thank you very much for this project ! You guys are awesome =D

    • I posted the instructions and patching program on the downloads page. I forgot to do it yesterday morning XD

But the patch is .xdelta and not .patch, so you’d probably have to use xdelta. Thankfully, the patcher is xdelta_mod, so you probably shouldn’t get any errors with it.
